I found Kate Cormier's art classes to be very exciting and helpful. During my middle school years at Hiland Hall school, Kate was my art teacher. During that time I learned how to mix colors and how to properly shade my drawing and painting so it looked realistic. 

 

Our class was introduced to very advance art techniques that most kids learn in High school. Each year we would start off with charcoal as the medium and we would draw objects and the human body. As the year progressed we would switch from charcoal to paint. We would review different techniques and started painting. Our paintings would be based off of a still life or an images. Kate chose challenging and rewarding still life objects that pushed the students to improve their artwork.

 

Without the three years of art class with Kate, I wouldn't be as good as I am now. Each year that I worked with her my artwork improved and I am thankful for her help. She is also a really good teacher; she is a really fun teacher, but at the same time doesn't tolerate slackers. I was and still am thankful for the art classes that I had with her.
